Perfect Timing

Okay so before I get into the more profound and substantial portion of today's blog I want to share a very real and nonsensical theory that I came up with. It's completely invalid, but, so. Recently I was thinking about how much I enjoyed the entirety of the fitness pacer experience. The different but typical reactions you would get from everyone in the class was my favorite part. You'd have the kids who did the absolute bare minimum to past the test, others wouldn't try at all, some ran it like they had something to prove, I was one that ran it for the fun of it and to improve my performance in track at the time, and then we have the people who reached 200 just because, the overachievers. Is the psychoanalysis I did valid? Well, no, BUT I enjoyed it so here it is. I pondered on how there's a possibility that people's performance in the pacer can be a direct reflection on people's performance in life. So if you peaked in gym class, there's no need to worry. You're set for life. Can you tell I'm being sarcastic? Anyways now to go into what you actually came here for let's switch gears.

I'm going to contradict everything I said in the first paragraph with a big BUT ("super thick just the way I like em"). Okay but no seriously, so you know how in the pacer everyone, well like, moves at their own pace to achieve their goal? Life is a lot like that. I was at my dining hall the other day and I overheard a conversation going at my table were one of my friends was like, "Yeah I'm a freshman but a credited sophomore," and the person he was talking to replied, "I'm a junior but a credited sophomore." While that earned a few **hardy** laughs it reminded me of a quote that was shown to me by a good friend of mine. It goes:

New York is three hours ahead of California

but that doesn't make California slow.

Someone graduated at the age of twenty-two,

but waited five years before securing a good job.

Someone is still single,

while someone else got married.

Obama retired at fifty-five,

and trump started at seventy.

Everyone in this world works based on THEIR time zone.

People around you might seem ahead of you,

and some might seem behind you.

But everyone is running their own race, in their own time.

Do not envy them and do not mock them.

They are in their time zone, and you are in yours,

Life is about waiting for the right moment to act.

So, Relax.

You're not late.

You're not early.

You are very much on time.

It was pretty cool reading this for the first time honestly. One of my biggest set back as a creator and person, in general, is invalidating my achievements in comparison to what I may be seeing other people my age doing. I had a conversation with someone recently expressing that I never considered learning how to work a camera because I'm so "behind." Which is like extremely foolish considering 1. I do what I want, and 2. There is no time period written in stone where anyone should have gotten anything it down already. I've always felt like the amount of time doesn't matter much as long as there are passion and effort put in.

In conclusion, move at your own pace, man. This is your world everybody else is just living in it. (thank you Rettzo for that quote, most profound thing you've ever said).
